Our People

Alan Tehan – President of Technical Services
Originally educated at Indiana State University in dentistry, Alan changed his career plans and founded Technical Services in 1969. "I decided my passion wasnít in teeth but in cars and engines, so I made a big career change, and Iím glad I did," says Alan. "It all began when I helped out on a project with a marine manufacturer and the rest is history." Alan is currently working toward earning an M.S. in Engineering from Purdue University.

His hobbies include anything related to engines: cars, boats, snowmobiles, motorcycles ó you name it. He also enjoys singing in a choir. But his real passion is his business, Technical Services: working with his crew of professional engineers, taking on new challenges every day and providing solutions for Project Partners.

William Whitridge – Engineer
William is the dynamometer lab expert and has many years experience with engine calibration. He began his career with Technical Services in 1989 and has attained experience with technical training through GM and the University of Wisconsin. William considers working on engines more than just a hobby but a large part of his life. Even now, when not working, he enjoys racing cars.

William says, "I enjoy keeping on the cutting-edge of new technology and learning how to apply it to our customersí needs."

Chad Hudson – Engineer
A graduate from Western Illinois University with a B.S.degree in Physics, Chad is an engineer specializing in engine calibration and fuel mapping. He also provides technical support for our customers. He began working for Technical Services in 1998 and specializes in electronics and computer programming.

Chad is married and enjoys spending time with his family. He is an avid water and snow skier. At Technical Services, he says he enjoys "achieving new goals, applying new knowledge and technology when solving problems and pushing engines to perform at their optimal levels."

Mark Tudor – Engineer
Mark is a graduate of Purdue University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.  His responsibilities at Technical Services include fuel systems, emissions, and engine calibration.  Mark began working for Technical Services while in high school and during his college summer breaks, and returned again in 2004.

His hobbies include kart racing and serving as a sound system technician at his church.  Mark shares, "I enjoy the variety in our project schedule.  We are working with hybrid vehicles, to increase the fuel economy beyond what is offered by the manufacturers.  At the other end of the spectrum, we are developing an engine control system for a street-drivable version of a supercharged monster truck.  The challenge of finding the best solutions for our customers keeps it interesting.”

Josh Gigous – Technical Writer
Josh earned a B.A. degree in psychology from LeTourneau University, Longview, Texas, and a Certificate in Technical Writing from IUPUI (Indiana University, Purdue University at Indianapolis campus). He began writing for Technical Services in May, 2004, and specializes in developing manuals and updating documentation.

When not working, Josh enjoys camping, hiking and sailing. What he enjoys most about work is "finding new ways of communicating complicated ideas, and making them clear and concise while maintaining technical accuracy." Although he really likes old muscle cars, he admits, "Iím really intrigued with new technology, how smaller engines can outperform larger ones with more horsepower and better fuel mileage."

Herman Hartzler – Engineer
Herman began working for Technical Services in January 2005 coming with a broad background in electronics and computers.  He studied math and science and earned a B.A. degree in Christian Education from Grace University, Omaha, Nebraska. His position includes electronics, harnesses and programming related projects, and IT and PC management.

His hobbies include painting with watercolor paints and using computers for sound editing. He enjoys working at Technical Services because there’s always a large variety of tasks to do. He enjoys employing computers at work because "I’m always learning how to use them to do powerful tasks. There’s always something to learn, and things are never stagnant around here," says Herman.
